Wok and Wire

Where enterprise voice engineering meets life, learning, and local cooking.

Welcome to Wok and Wire. I’m Chris, a Systems Engineer and Voice Architect. Over the years, I've designed and managed enterprise communications, call centers, and telephone systems—from early-2000s Interactive Intelligence (i3) and Nortel networks to modern SIP routing, Teams Direct Routing, and cloud contact centers.

This blog is a personal log of my technical work and the hobbies that keep me busy outside the server room: cooking simple stir-fries in a carbon steel wok, growing tomatoes and hot peppers, kayaking on local waters, learning Chinese, and sharing it all with my wife.

No forced analogies, no fluff. Just real systems engineering logs, outdoor notes, and home-cooked meals.
